book covers
Designing a book cover means stepping into someone else's story before a reader ever will. Every cover starts the same way, reading, and reading again, until the tone of the manuscript settles into something I can actually draw. Some covers came together quickly, others took a dozen directions before the right one revealed itself. A few were made for a forthcoming release, working alongside an editor toward a real publication date. Others were made simply because a story deserved a cover, whether or not it ever reaches a shelf. Below are a handful of the covers I've had the privilege of creating, some for family, some for friends, all born from the same instinct: that a good story earns a cover that tells the truth about it before the first page is turned.
